The Minnesota Amateur Spacemodeler Association, MASA, is a rocket club with members throughout the Minneapolis / St. Paul (Twin Cities) metropolitan area and surrounding areas of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
MASA was officially formed in January 1998, and it became section #576 of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) shortly thereafter.
There are MASA members with interests in nearly every segment of the hobby - small rockets, large rockets, payloads, sport flying, contests, scale rockets, and lots more!
MASA was featured in an article in the March/April 1999 issue of Sport Rocketry magazine. MASA hosted NARCON - the national convention of the NAR - in 2007 and 2008. MASA also received the NAR Section of the Year Award (in the medium size section category) in both 2006 and 2007 and the LAC trophy for best NAR section newsletter in 2008, 2009 and 2010!
MASA typically has one official club launch per month, year-round (except in December). We also try to have additional launches during our all-too-brief Minnesota summers. A club meeting is held once per month from October through April. Visitors, spectators, and prospective members are always welcomed at club launches and meetings.
MASA welcomes model rocketeers of all ages. We do not require that you belong to the NAR in order to join MASA. However, we do encourage NAR membership. Many MASA members do belong to the NAR, and some members belong to both the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA) Many of these members are active in both MASA and the Minnesota Tripoli Prefectures.
As you look around the MASA website, you will find lots of additional information on our club, its members and activities. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
If you are looking to become a MASA member, please see the Join MASA page. Our dues are quite low, and we'd love to have you aboard!
