Additional Information:
Like the Summer Grill out, MASA provides the meat entrees, the beverages (water/soda), the flatware, serving ware, standard condiments, etc. The remainder is a pot luck of the finest outputs from the attendees' kitchens: snacks, appetizers, sides, desserts, breads, miscellany.
Following the feasting comes the Traditional Gibben's White Elephant/Yankee Swap. Also, there is the presentation of the years MASSY awards (given for whatever I see fit or have had suggested to me (hint...hint) and then the Prang Award, given for what was deemed the years most distinctive, and generally entertainingly tragic, flight (also hint hint if you recall a particular one that should be called out). There may be other (dis)organized activities as time and motivation see fit.
White Elephant
The Gibben's White Elephant is an opt in activity. Those that want to participate will bring a wrapped present of approximate $20 to $25 value. Random numbers are handed out to determine order, and then general shenanigans and skullduggery ensue as coveted items are vied for. The items should be rocket/space related but in no means are limited to rocket kits. The more diverse the selection the better. A couple years back it was also determined that an included chocolate item as an adjunct contribution definitely added to the curb appeal.
Pot Luck
Please let Tim know, either via a direct email or on the email list, what food item(s) you are bringing. That way I can post a list and people can identify possible gaps for things to bring. Eight people showing up with Lutefisk would not be an ideal outcome.
I am presently aware of one shellfish allergy in the membership. If any items contains that, please make sure it is labeled as such.
F1T1 build
If you have any kits you would like to add into the F1T1 box mix, please feel free to bring them and we can get to work on the builds. The F1T1 box currently has about 8 rockets in it: 5 Vikings, a High Flier, 2 Mini Maxes (which I've been painting (gasp) to add to their curb appeal as well.
