Launching Until the Sun Goes Down. (9/3/1998)
On only two days notice, MASA members turned out in droves for
this Thursday evening launch. The total stats for the night
were: 56 rockets launched with 59 rocket motors burned.
There were many impressive launches with only a few
problems. This launch was also the first test for the
new MASA launch procedures. They worked well and made for a
safer, yet fast moving launch.
The motor breakdown for the evening was: A: 6, B: 17, C: 10, D:
10, E: 1, F: 4, G: 10, H: 1
Ted Cochran had the 2nd to last launch of the evening with his
LOC IV on an H128. Marty Johnston boosted his
electronics-laden rocket for the last launch.
Unfortunately, the long summer days in Minnesota are rapidly
disappearing, likely making this the last Thursday night launch of
